NCRPO hunts Chinese nat’l for fatal Taguig shooting

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director P/MGen. Felipe Natividad ordered a massive manhunt against a Chinese national who went on a shooting rampage, killing a security guard and injuring two others in Taguig City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspect as Tan Xing, 22, presently residing at Tower B Shore Residences, Pasay City, who fled on board a Honda City car bearing plate number DR-291 that he forcibly took at gunpoint from its driver identified as certain Destajo after the incident.

In his report to MGen. Natividad, Macaraeg said that at around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, duty security guard Hermoso Cordero, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of Alcatraz Security Agency assigned at Mulberry Place, Acacia Estates, Bgy. Bambang went to Unit 116 to respond to a reported commotion.

Upon seeing Tan, who was armed with an unknown handgun, Cordero tried to approach him but he was shot and seriously injured by the suspect then fled on board the commandeered vehicle.

When Joel Pacana and Noriel Pojas, both roving guards of the Mulberry Place tried to block his path before approaching the gate, they were met by a volley of fire, killing Pacana on the spot, while Pojas and Cordero were rushed to Medical City Taguig (MCT) for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Taguig Police homicide investigators are still conducting a thorough investigation of the incident.
