SOME P65 million worth of assorted drugs, including 27, 334 designer drugs Ecstasy, and high-powered firearms were seized while two were nabbed during an operation in Teacher’s Village, Quezon City recently.

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Officer-In-Charge Eric Distor identified the arrested suspects as Ramon Loarca and Wilson de Lara Apalisoc.

Formal charges have been filed against the suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for violation of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

Distor said the NBI received information that a house in the said village was allegedly being used as a haven for drug users.

To confirm the information, operatives of the NBI-Task Force Against Illegal Drugs (NBI-TFAID) under the Intelligence Service of the Bureau conducted a surveillance, which confirmed the suspects’ illegal drug operations.

This prompted the operatives to apply for a search warrant before the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City, which was eventually approved.

On November 19, 2021, operatives of the NBI-TFAID implemented the warrant and swooped down on the said address.

Seized were 27, 334 Ecstasy tablets, shabu, cocaine, kush, marijuana sticks, chemicals, laboratory equipment and drug paraphernalia with an estimated value of P65 million.

Also seized during the operation included a 9MM Uzi sub-machine gun, Remington shotgun, Glock pistol, .22 Automatic rifle, 800 pieces of ammunitions for different calibers, and a high explosive munition.

Distor said the suspects were believed concocting a ‘power party drug’ by mixing pulverized ecstasy with methamphetamine and cocaine.
