Multiple-vehicle collision leaves 2 dead in Laguna

TWO people, including a two-year-old girl, on Friday were killed in a multiple-vehicle collision in Nagcarlan, Laguna.

A report by Nagcarlan police chief Maj. Paul Raymund Ayon to Laguna OIC Provincial Director Col. Harold Depositar identified the fatalities as Henry Auijie, 45, of Bgy. Poblacion 2; and two-year-old Sandra Margarette Arevalo, of Bgy. Buboy, both in Nagcarlan, Laguna.

The injured were Trisha Mae Albor, 22, of Bgy. Tuy, Rizal, Laguna; and Bryle Kristoff Pesidas, 13, of Bgy. Poblacion 3, Nagcarlan.

The wounded were rushed to the Nagcarlan District Hospital and the San Pablo Medical Hospital for medical treatment.

Police said the accident occurred on the highway in Poblacion 2, Nagcarlan municipality involving a passenger jeep, a tricycle, and an e-bike at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Jeepney driver Dario Baldivia, 50 of Bgy. Taytay Nagcarlan, told police that he lost control of the vehicle until it crashed into a tricycle and an e-bike while on way to Nagcarlan proper.

Baldivia is now detained at the Nagcarlan Police Station facing charges for multiple homicide and multiple physical injury.
