Mom, daughter die in Noveleta fire
NOVELETA, Cavite – A mother and her daughter died while sleeping when a fire broke out in their house in Barangay Salcedo II here Friday morning, February 17, 2023.
Acting police chief Police Major Rommel Carcellar identified the victims as Marilen Tamayo, 39, and Maria Cristina Tamayo, 8, both residents of the said barangay in Noveleta.
According to the police report, the fire incident started around 12:42 a.m. due to the woodpile in their kitchen that raged and consumed the entire house made of light materials.
Based on the report, two others were able to get out of the burning house unhurt.
Noveleta BFP (Bureau of Fire Protection) declared fire out at around 1:04 a.m., according to officer-on-case PSSgt. Armine Matro of Noveleta PNP (Philippine National Police).
