A CIVIL engineer who was reported missing for a month on Wednesday was found severed and dumped in a grassy area in Neverland, Bgy. Habay 1, Bacoor City, Cavite.
Police identified the victim as Napoleon Fernandez, a resident of Bgy. Habay 1.
The suspect was Romnick Missiona Bombeo, a 30-year-old construction worker with address at 1309 Espiritu Compound, Bgy. Zapote-Las Piñas City.
Bombeo is a stay-in caretaker at the house of Fernandez.
He was about to escape with the engineer’s belongings when arrested.
An investigation showed the victim’s brother, Danilo, sought the help of the police regarding the disappearance of Napoleon since July 7, this year.
Police immediately went to the victim’s house and found the suspect carrying a backpack and about to leave the place.
Lawmen asked Bombeo about the victim’s whereabout. The suspect answered Napoleon was on a vacation.
Sensing the suspect was lying, authorities asked him if they could check his backpack.
Instead of heeding to the police’s request, Bombeo got angry and bit one of the law enforcers who was about to scrutinize his bag and ran away.
Police put out a chase and was able to corner the suspect and arrested him.
Found inside the suspect’s bag were P4,926,100 million in cash, three gold bracelets, three gold chains, one gold ring, two watches, two Samsung flip cellphones, wallets, and various identifications belonging to the missing victim.
At the police station, Bombeo confessed killing the victim and dumping his body in the bush in Bgy. Habay 1.
According to the suspect, he was scolded by his boss that earned his ire. He said he took the victim’s samurai displayed on the sala and attacked the engineer.
After chopping off the victim’s body, the suspect said he put them in four sacks and threw them in the grassy portion of the village.
