MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto led the distribution of financial assistance to city residents who wanted to start up a small business yesterday morning in San Andres Sports Complex.
A total of 656 beneficiaries received P5,000 investment assistance from the local government through the Capital Assistance Program of the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW).
“Maliit nga lang po pero wala pong maliit kung pagsusumikapan nating palaguin ang negopsyo na iniisip natin, Mayroon nga akong kakilala na nagsisimula sa P500, P1,000, pero kalaunan, napagtapos nila ang kanilang mga anak,” the mayor said.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lacuna together with Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto led the distribution of financial aid to thousands of families affected by fire Sunday morning on Oroquieta St. in Sta Cruz, Manila.
Mayor Honey and Vice Mayor Nieto were joined by 3rd District Congressman Joel Chua and MDSW Director Asuncion “Re” Fugoso in distributing P10,000 cash assistance to some 1,218 families and P3,000 each to 63 individuals at P. Gomez Elementary School in P. Guevarra St. Sta Cruz.
“Pagdamutan po ninyo ang aming munting nakayanan, Hayaan nyo po, kapag mas nakakaluwag-luwag po tayo uli, sana, makatulong kaming muli sa inyong barangay,” the mayor said.
