CHERY Tiggo produced a masterclass in beating F2 Logistics, 25-19, 25-14, 25-16, to join Creamline on top yesterday in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena.

In what expected to be a close match has turned into a rout, as the Crossovers needed only one hour and 36 minutes to hand the Cargo Movers their first loss of the conference, while matching the Cool Smashers’ perfect 3-0 record.

“I’m so proud of the ladies, how they really worked hard. Wala kang mapi-pin point talaga. Yung puso na ibinigay ng mga players ngayon, talagang inalay nila sa isa’t isa.

We know for a fact that F2 is not an easy team. I mean lahat ng mga koponan pero they have a two-game winning streak. Talagang overwhelming, nagpapasalamat ako,” said Chery Tiggo coach Aaron Velez.

“Talagang ang ganda ng collaboration ng lahat ng members ng team.”

Mylene Paat led the way for the Crossovers with 22 points, Shaya Adorador came through with 13 points and six receptions, while EJ Laure had two blocks for a 12-point outing to go along with 15 digs.

Chery Tiggo showed up against F2 Logistics well-prepared, not only on offense but also in defense, where libero Buding Duremdes collected 25 digs and 13 receptions.

“Talagang ang ganda ng tutok ng bawat isa. I think naman kanina…of course meron pa kaming mga konting kailangan pang i-improve pa doon. Katulad ng mga pinag-uusapan namin, yung consistency yung kailangang makuha,” said Velez.

“Lumabas yung mga pinag-aralan namin at yung mga sakripisyo namin araw-araw. It paid off,” he added.

Then there’s of playmaker Alina Bicar, who tossed in 20 excellent sets and was able to trick the Cargo Movers’ defense that kept the Crossovers attacking game going.

“Alina now is showing a lot of heart,” said Velez. “I can see the aggressiveness. Hindi iyan masalita, hindi iyan yung talagang expressive. Bilang lang talaga. Very precious.”

Chery Tiggo was also able to neutralize Myla Pablo, F2 Logistics’ biggest off-season acquisition who struggled with 9-of-44 attacks.

Majoy Baron, starting for the first time after sitting out the first two matches, had four blocks to finish with six points, while Aby Maraño also logged six points, including two service aces for the Cargo Movers.
