MANILA Water Infratech Solutions (MWIS), a subsidiary of Manila Water that provides products and services for water supply and wastewater projects, recently celebrated their 2nd year in the water and sanitation industry.

Formed in 2022, MWIS is the union of two Manila Water subsidiaries: Manila Water Total Solutions which was founded in 2008, and Manila Water Technical Ventures which was instituted in 2018.

With the combined experiences of these companies in their portfolio, MWIS has established itself as an Engineering-Procurement-Construction management company, specializing in water supply and wastewater projects in 20 locations in the Philippines, Indonesia and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both for public and private real estate developments. The business unit’s expertise includes sustainability-aligned consultancy and strategic planning, innovative engineering and design, procurement and supply of high-quality materials, equipment and technology, and construction management.

Among the business unit’s key projects include the design and construction of the Laguna Technopark Sewage and Septage Treatment Plant which can treat 11 million liters of used water per day (MLD) and 70 cubic meters per day of septage; Cebu IT Park Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) with a capacity of treating 10 MLD of wastewater per day; and Boracay Balabag Package Treatment Plant which can treat 2 MLD of raw water per day.

MWIS also provided consultancy works for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Northwest and Eastern cluster enabling project and the Lhokseumawe Indonesia Bulk and Distribution Project.

Among ongoing projects include the Bonifacio Water Corporation’s Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Upgrade that can treat wastewater of up to 20 MLD, with the product compliant with effluent standards set by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources; and the Alviera Estate STP in Porac, Pampanga which can treat 9 MLD of sewage per day.

“From groundbreaking projects to collaborative initiatives, we’ve taken strides toward building a more resilient future. In the coming years, we hope that our vision of sustainable infrastructure drives us further: to continue creating lasting impact and leaving a legacy of progress and environmental stewardship,” says Jose Paolo Serias, General Manager of Manila Water Infratech Solutions.
