THE 24/7 drive-thru vaccination and swab testing site at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park has ceased its operation beginning Tuesday.

The Manila City Public Information Office (MPIO) in its advisory Monday eveningannounced the closure of drive-thru vaccination and swab testing but instructed Manila residents, non-residents and walk-in clients who wanted to receive COVID-19 vaccines to proceed to any of the city’s six district hospitals, four malls or in 44 health centers.

Earlier on May 27, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, in his “The Capital Report” program, already announced the closure on June 7, 2022, of the city’s 24/7 drive-thru vaccination and swab testing, which was launched last July, 2021, without mentioning the reason.

The MPIO said a total of 43,165 four-wheel vehicles with 87,844 drivers and passengers have been administered with booster shots at the Quirino Grandstand grounds since January this year, while 21,813 received their first dose and 20,500 of their second dose from July to December of 2021.

Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Director Arnel Angeles, who led the 24/7 drive-thru vaccination, expressed his gratitude to all residents, non-residents, and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who patronized and trusted them in getting their COVID-19 vaccine at the drive-thru vaccination site.

He also took the opportunity to thank all his staff, nurses, medical personnel, and others who devoted their time and energy to serving the people who wanted to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

“At sa atin pong alkalde na si Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso at kay Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, maraming salamat din po sa inyo at kami po ay inyong binigyan ng pagtitiwala na maatasan na magbigay serbisyo dito sa lugar ng Luneta Grandstand upang makapag-bakuna sa mga kababayan natin at sa mga kalapit na bayan ng lungsod ng Maynila,” Director Angeles said.
