Manila City Council passes 141 ordinances, 917 resolutions

THE Manila City Council reported that they were passed 141 city ordinancse and approved 917 resolutions from July 2022 up to December 2023.

Vice Mayor and City Council’s Presiding Officer John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto said that one of the important ordinances they passed was the approval of 2024 annual budget amounting to P23.2 billion which was authored by Councilor Salvador Philip Lacuna.

Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan also signed the passage of Ordinance No. 8991 authored by Councilor Pamela “Fa” Fugoso-Pascal providing monthly allowance amounting to P500 to minor person with disability (PWD) and Ordinance No 9003 of Councilor Martin “Marjun” Isidro, Jr. prohibiting overloading of public utility vehicles beyond its maximum loading capacity known as “Bawal Sabit on PUVs”.

Among the important resolutions being approved by the City Council were the ratification of Executive-Legislative Agenda for the year 2022 up to 2025 authored by Majority Floor Leader Councilor Ernesto “Jong” Isip, Jr. and the “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD by Councilor Johanna Maureen “Apple” Nieto-Rodriguez.

The City Council also ratified the resolution providing wholehearted support for the national government in fighting for the country’s territory on the West Philippine Sea which was authored by Councilor Niño Dela Cruz and the historical “Digitalization Project” of Vice Mayor Nieto that will make it easier for the public to search for records way back from the Municipal Board up to present.
