Mandaue outplays Lapu-Lapu
MANDAUE-KCS Computer Specialist flexed its muscle hard enough to beat Lapu-Lapu-ARQ Builders, 75-66, and roll to its fifth straight win in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup basketball tournament at the Alcantara Sports and Civic Center in Cebu.
Dyll Roncal and Michole Solera provided the 1-2 punch for Mandaue as they combined for 24 points in another impressive victory in the six-team tournament sponsored by Chooks-to-Go and sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
“Although may ilang lapses, I think we executed very well. Everybody is doing their job. We followed the game plan and it paid off,” said Mandaue-KCS assistant coach Jabby Bautista.
“Good thing na nangyayari yung mga lapses namin when the other other team is making a run. Now the players know what to do sa mga susunod na laban,” added Bautista.
“If at all, defense won the game for us.”
Actually, Mandaue-KCS led from start to finish against Lapu-Lapu.
But Mandaue-KCS had to endure uneasy moments after Lapu-Lapu-ARQ cut a 57-72 deficit to 66-72 with still 1:07 left behind nine unanswered points initiated by veteran Reed Juntilla.
