MABALACAT City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has instructed the City Health Office to explore ways to establish a facility that will promote mental health for its residents.

The move came in light of the ongoing Mental Awareness Month, which aims to raise awareness on mental health issues, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Mayor Garbo, as the focal person for health in the League of Cities of the Philippines, recognizes the importance of mental health and its impact on the overall well-being of the community.

He believes that the establishment of a mental health facility in the city will help address the growing need for accessible mental health services since the pandemic.

“I want to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals who may be struggling with mental health issues. It will offer a range of services, including counseling, therapy, and psychiatric treatment, to help individuals manage their mental health and improve their quality of life,” Garbo said.

The Mabalacat mayor stressed the need for a holistic approach to mental health. He encouraged the community to prioritize their mental well-being.

Garbo expressed belief that by promoting mental health, the city can build a healthier and more resilient community.

The City Health Office is now exploring possible locations and funding sources for the mental health facility.

With the establishment of a mental health facility, the city can look forward to a brighter, healthier, and more supportive future.
