LTO readies for influx of travelers
LAND Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II yesterday ordered all Regional Directors to prepare the necessary road safety and assistance measures for the expected influx of travelers on the roads during the Yuletide season.
This is in line with the instruction of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista for all agencies under the department for safe travel, especially when the Christmas break for students starts.
Mendoza said among the areas that they would focus on are the roads leading to and from transportation hubs like airports and bus terminals and major thoroughfares across the country.
He said Regional Directors are also directed to coordinate with the Philippine National Police and local government units in the identification of accident-prone areas to come up with measures to prevent fatal accidents similar to what happened in Antique recently.
