THE Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region West has deployed its personnel apprehend erring drivers of Public Utility vehicles (PUV) who would refuse to convey passengers returning from Holy Week break.

LTO-NCR West Director Roque I. Verzosa III said regional personnel have been instructed to implement “Oplan Isnabero” from April 11 to 14 and catch erring PUV drivers.

Verzosa reminded taxi drivers to fulfill their responsibilities to the public diligently in response to the demand for public transportation services during the holidays.

He emphasized that due to the increasing number of travelers and commuters who require public transportation to reach their destinations, any form of passenger refusal would not be tolerated.

“Sisiguraduhin namin na mapaparusahan ang mga taxi drivers na tatanggi magsakay ng pasahero,” he said.

He said refusal to render service to the public or convey passengers to their destination is punishable by a fine ranging from P5,000 to P15,000. Additionally, the violator’s Certificate of Public Conveyance (CPC) may also be revoked.
