Kitchen helper disappears while swimming in Batangas resort
AUTHORITIES are still searching for a kitchen helper after being swept by strong waves and disappeared into the sea while swimming in Barangay Matabungkay, Lian, Batangas the other day.
Lian Municipal Police Station town investigator PSMS Junell John C. Hernandez said the missing person is a 29-year-old kitchen helper, single and a resident of Pinalad Road, Cert. II Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
A concerned citizen reported the incident to authorities at 9:15 p.m., and the police immediately responded.
Initial investigation showed that the missing person and his co-employees had a company outing and booked at the Water Moon Beach Resort in Bgy. Matabungkay, Lian.
The victim was allegedly drunk, and went for a swim, but due to the strong waves of the beach, he disappeared at the water’s surface and could not be found.
As of this writing, the Philippine Coast Guard (PSG) based in Lian Town Sub-Station is still conducting a search and rescue operation to find the victim.
