WALANG balak si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na patulan at gantihan ng water cannon ang pambobomba ng tubig ng China sa barkong Datu Bankaw ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources sa Bajo de Masinloc noong nakaraang linggo.

Sa ambush interview kay Pangulong Marcos sa Pasay City, sinabi nito hindi gagamit ng water cannon ang mga barko ng Pilipinas.

Wala aniyang balak ang Pilipinas na umatake sa kahit na anong bansa.

“What we are doing is defending our sovereign rights and our sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea and we have no intention of attacking anyone with water cannons or any other such offensive, we have to call them weapon dahil nagkakadamage na, so, no that is not something that’s in the plan,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Matatandaang nasira ang barko ng Pilipinas dahil sa malakas na water cannon na ibinuga ng barko ng China.

“The last thing we would like is to raise the tensions in the West Philippine Sea. That’s the last. And that would certainly do that, so hindi natin gagawin. We will not follow the Chinese Coast Guard and the Chinese vessels down that road because it is not the mission of our Navy, our Coast Guard to start or increase tension,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“Their mission is precisely the opposite, is to lower tensions. That’s why, all we do is pagka-nangyayari, wino-water cannon yung mga barko natin ay nagpapadala tayo ng demarche, nagpapadala tayo ng sulat sa China and other stakeholders, so that will be the oppositte of what we are trying to achieve, would be to put some kind of any kind of cannon on our ships,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Ipinatawag na ng Department of Foreign Affairs si Chinese Embassy of Manila Deputy Chief of Mission Zhou Zhiyong para pagpaliwanagin sa insidente.

Magsasagawa sana ng routine humanitarian mission sa Bajo de Masinloc ang barko ng Pilipinas nang atakihin ng China.
