RISING singer Jeri Violago is slowly but surely getting close to his dream.

The 22–year old Ateneo de Manila Business Management cum laude has just signed a 3-tier contract with Star Music, ABS-CBN’s music production arm.

Jeri signed separate contracts with Star Music in various capacities: as an artist, a composer, and record producer.

Jeri was beside himself with excitement when select media met up with him recently at the Holy Family Parish church in West Kamias, Quezon City where he serenaded the ladies who helped raise funds for the various programs of the church.

Named My Fair Lady that evening was Ms. Elsa Payumo, still very beautiful and elegant former Miss Caltex.

Jeri’s mother, Catherine G. Violago, is president of the local Parish Pastoral Council.

Jeri has recorded two songs, ‘Gusto Kita’ and ‘Di Ka Mag-iisa,’ both composed by Vehnee Saturno, which he hopes will meet the taste of music lovers of all ages, of all social levels.

On his own, he has composed at least seven songs which he hopes to include in his debut album.

While singing remains his focus at this early point in his career, Jeri says he wouldn’t mind entertaining offers to act, if there are any.

Media persons who have met him claim Jeri has a striking resemblance to Matteo Guidicelli.

“He can pass for Matteo’s younger brother,” according to entertainment editors Maricris Valdez and Ervin Santiago.

Being new to acting, Jeri says he won’t mind if he plays support roles in the beginning. “I guess I know I have to start from the bottom.”

He also feels honored being compared to Matteo, but at the same time, too humble to say that his close friends don’t think so. It would also be better to have his own identity.

With his talent and good looks, coupled with good PR, Jeri isn’t too far in realizing his showbiz dreams.
