Mayor urges survivors to convince others that killer virus not a joke

MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno has urged those who have recovered from COVID-19 to share their experience, specially the difficulties they had to bear, with as many people as possible.

This, he said, is to instill in everyone’s minds that COVID-19 is real and that it should never be taken lightly.

Moreno said that for him, the heaviest portion of his regular live broadcast is when he announces the number of deaths in the city, knowing that they are not just figures and there are actual lives behind the numbers.

The mayor said he is always pained by reports that he receives every day, especially on new active cases and deaths.

This, he said, is the reason why he never gets tired of repeating over and over again his call for everyone to always keep safe and practice the minimum health protocols all the time.

“Those who experienced getting infected, share your experience emotionally, psychologically and physically para maging takdang aral sa ating mga mahal sa buhay, kakilala at kaibigan na napakahirap,” he said.

The mayor also shared that from time to time, he would receive news of certain people suddenly having breathing difficulty and in dire need of hospitalization even in the wee hours of the morning.

“Kahit bilyonaryo o multi-millionaire, nasa ward natin.
