THE Security and Intelligence Service of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines at Davao International Airport reported a cargo containing packs of suspected imported marijuana last Jan. 8.

According to CSIS, the marijuana was discovered at around 9:49 a.m. in a baggage that had not been claimed for a month.

The baggage was subjected to disposal after it was not released due to suspected dangerous goods. The suspicion was proven true during an X-ray when it arrived at DIA from Manila through Cebu Pacific 51 961 last December 8.

Upon opening the cargo during the disposal process, personnel of the airline were surprised by the content and called the attention of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-DIA.

After verification, PDEA-DIA confirmed the box is composed of three pieces of suspected imported marijuana, three vape and one electric heater.

The illegal drugs were turned over to PDEA XI for laboratory examination.
