Kamara iimbestigahan umano’y ‘gentleman’s agreement’ ni Duterte, China sa WPS

MAGSASAGAWA ng imbestigasyon ang Kamara de Representantes kaugnay ng gentleman’s agreement sa pagitan ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Chinese President Xi Jinping, kaugnay ng paglimita sa suplay na ipinapadala sa mga sundalong nasa BRP Sierra Madre.

Ayon kay House Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, ito ay bilang tugon na rin sa hiling ni Assistant Majority Leader Jay Khonghun, lalo’t naniniwala ang mga eksperto na ang kasunduan ay maituturing na ‘treason’, lalo na at ito ay ginawa ng dating pinuno ng bansa.

“In response to the request of our colleagues led by Assistant Majority Leader Jay Khonghun, the House of Representatives will consider the call to probe the supposed gentleman’s agreement when Congress resumes its regular sessions next week,” ani Dalipe, chairman ng House committee on rules.

Giit pa ni Dalipe, “Protecting our national territory and marine resources are of utmost importance.”

Sumasang-ayon din ang mambabatas kay Khonghun, at ilang pang kasapi ng Mababang Kapulungan, na kailangang suriin ang mga implikasyon ng sinasabing kasunduan sa karapatan at soberanya ng Pilipinas.

“The inquiry is aimed at guaranteeing transparency and protecting the national interests,” giit pa ni Dalipe.

“The House of Representatives is committed to conducting a comprehensive and fair inquiry to clarify this critical national issue,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.

Magsisimula namang magbukas ang sesyon ng Kongreso sa April 29.
