Sa dinadaluhang rally

PINAGHIHINAY-HINAY ng mga kongresista si Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte sa mga dinadaluhan nitong rally, lalo na ang mga rally na laban sa administrasyong Marcos.

Ayon kay House Deputy Speaker at Quezon 2nd District Rep. David “Jay-jay” Suarez, dapat maging mapili si Duterte sa pagpili ng mga pupuntahan nitong event upang maiwasan ang pagbibigay nito ng nakalilitong senyales.

“I think we need to be a little bit more prudent and proper in deciding what events to attend pagdating sa ganoong usapin,” sabi ni Suarez.

Matatandaan na natuligsa ang Ikalawang Pangulo matapos itong pumunta sa prayer rally na suporta sa kaibigan nito at self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God” na si Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

Pero ang prayer rally ay naging isang anti-BBM rally.

Hindi umano maganda na nakikita si VP Sara sa mga anti-BBM rally dahil bahagi ito ng Gabinete ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Binigyang-diin ni Suarez ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaisa at pagsasama-sama ng mga sumusuporta kay Pangulong Marcos at hindi magbigay ng ibang senyales sa publiko.

“I think siguro sa mga susunod na mga pagkakataon malaman din natin iyong mga dinadaluhan natin kasi siyempre kita niyo naman iyong tenor nung prayer rally na iyon,” punto ni Suarez.

“I think very strong iyong anti-administration sentiment at isinisigaw ng mga indibiduwal na nandoon. Of course, being part of the Cabinet of President Bongbong Marcos, it sends the wrong signal especially for me kasi ipinaglaban natin kaya sila parehas nanalo dahil sa unity,” dagdag pa nito.

Ganito rin ang pananaw ni 1-RIDER Party-List Rep. Rodge Gutierrez.

“Of course, I cannot speak for anyone else but myself on this matter. We respect everyone’s right to freedom of expression,” sabi ni Gutierrez.

“I suppose the attendance of certain personalities at the rally could always be construed as a personal exercise of that right. But given the positions that we are in, we have to consider of course the intricacies that are involved,” dagdag pa nito.

Umaasa rin si Gutierrez na ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno ay mag-iingat sa kanilang pagpunta sa mga rally dahil sa mensaheng maaaring ibigay nito sa publiko.

“When one attends rally and statements are made, though you might not personally agree to it, your mere attendance might be misconstrued by other people,” dagdag pa ni Gutierrez.
