THE Marcos administration is set to distribute cash aid and rice to thousands of residents in Benguet on Sunday.

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez will lead the cash and rice distribution or CARD program of the government.

This will be the 20th province that will benefit from the government’s aid for the less fortunate

“Tinutupad lang ng pangulong Marcos ang pangako na prayoridad sa kanyang administrasyon ang mga mahihirap na sabay-sabay na aahon at hindi sila maiiwan,” said Speaker Romualdez. “Ang Kongreso ay naglaan ng malaking halaga para sa programang ito at tuloy-tuloy ito sa ilalim ng kasalukuyang administrasyon.”

The Speaker of the House also assured that all the provinces in the country will be given aid by the government.

The lawmaker added, “Layon ng programang ito ay para makaagapay ang mga maliliit na kababayan natin sa mga gastusin at pangkain sa araw-araw”.

For his part, Benguet Lone District Cong. Eric Yap said the said government aid is very timely as their province is now suffering from El Niño.

“Malaking tulong lalo na sa mga magsasaka namin dahil alam nyo naman ang Benguet ang isa sa mga source ng gulay ng Luzon at ngayon ay nakakaramdam ng epekto ng El Niño,” Cong. Yap said.
