Girl, 6, slain, dumped in river
A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl without underwear was found dead in a river in La Union.
Authorities believe the child, whose name was withheld, was raped before she was murdered.
The victim’s father discovered the body of his child in a river in Bgy. Ambitacay in Sto. Tomas, La Union.
The child was last seen alive while playing with friends on Friday afternoon.
Her parents started to worry when the victim failed to return home and they started looking for her until she was found dead.
Not far from the victim’s remains was her underwear.
Investigation showed the victim sustained injuries in her head and body.
“May nakitang pasa sa tagiliran ng biktima na posibleng sinuntok para mawalan siya ng malay,” said SSgt. Aplonio Rafanan, chief investigator of the Sto. Tomas Police, in a television interview.
An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of the child’s death and to find out if she was sexually molested before she was killed.
