GILAS Pilipinas, bannered by the multi-titled TNT Triple Giga, will represent the country in FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup scheduled March 27-31 in Singapore.

The three TNT players — Ping Exciminiano, Gryann Mendoza and Chester Saldua — will join forces with Joseph Sedurifa of Meralco in the Filipino team to be handled by multi-awarded coach Mau Belen.

Sedurifa was a major contributor in the Philippines’ silver-winning campaign in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games men’s 3×3 competition in Cambodia.

The Filipinos, who are entered as the sixth seeds, are drawn in Pool C with No. 3 Japan and the winner of the qualifying draw among Australia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tahiti.

Belen said the Filipinos are aiming for an improved performance from the country’s 0-2 showing in the preliminaries and early exit in last year’s edition, also held in Singapore.

This was a big letdown from the stellar campaign previously in 2022 that saw the Almond Vosotros-led Filipinos upsetting powerhouse Mongolia in the quarterfinals, 21-20, and barely missing out on a bronze medal.
