GenTri logs 171 COVID-19 recoveries

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – The city recorded 171 new recoveries based on the latest data from the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, January 22, 2022.

The city which has 240 active cases has 144 asymptomatic cases (60 percent), 94 mild cases or (39 percent), 2 moderate cases (1%), and no severe and critical cases.

229 active cases are in strict home quarantine, 11 patients staying in an isolation facility in Barangay Santiago, and zero hospital admission.

Covid’s case in the city is slowly declining, after it hit 792 active cases on January 12, from 69 active cases on January 1, 2022.

According to the City Health Office of General Trias, the increase of active Covid-19 cases in the city is also due to the past holiday season which eased the quarantine restriction and the entry of the Omicron variant in the province this January 2022.

There are still no recorded fatalities this month of January, that ended the year 2021 with 240 deaths recorded since the start of the pandemic in the year 2020. General Trias has 17,190 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 16,170 recoveries.
