GenTri LGU aids tornado victims
GENERAL TRIAS CITY (GenTri), Cavite – More than 100 families affected by a raging tornado were assisted by the General Trias City LGU (local government unit) by providing food packs and cash assistance Saturday, May 21, 2022.
Cavite 6th District Congressman Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV and GenTri Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer led the distribution of relief packs to affected residents of Barangay Buenavista 1 and Santiago together with Vice Mayor-elect Jonas Glyn Labuguen and city dads.
The LGU also distributed cash aids to affected families to purchase materials to repair their roofs peeled off by the tornado.
Tornado hit the two villages around 2:30 p.m. on May 19, 2022, while the rain was pouring in the area.
Bgy. Buenavista 1 Barangay Captains Rizalito Potante and Rolando “Kap Batman” Pagkaliwangan of Bgy. Santiago thanked the local government for the immediate assistance provided to those affected by the tornado in Sitio Ipilan and Sitio Capriohan. By Dennis Abrina
