Fire hits ex-Ecija mayor’s broiler farm, leaves P15M damage

CARRANGLAN, Nueva Ecija – A broiler farm here owned by a former municipal mayor was razed by fire on Sunday, incurring damages worth P15 million, it was reported.

Structurally damaged by the fire was the LJR Broiler Farm located in Barangay Joson, owned by ex-mayor Luvimindo Otic, 83, businessman, of Bgy. FC Otic here.

SSgt. Merwin Mendez, police investigator, said the blaze occurred at 10:53 p.m. and was declared fire out at 1:00 a.m.

Citing the report of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Carranglan, no casualties were reported, and the estimated cost of damage was initially placed at P15 million.

The origin and cause of the fire are still being investigated.
