Female head of Ecija security agency gunned down, son hurt

GAPAN CITY — Violence erupted in this city on late Saturday afternoon when unidentified motorcycle-riding men peppered with bullets the female head of a local security agency and her son, killing the woman and hurting the other victim, police reported.

Killed was Lilia Cabiedes, 47, president of TekForce Security Agency Inc. while wounded was her son, Mark Gabriel, 25, TekForce encoder, both of Franco Subdivision, Bgy. Poblacion, San Isidro, Nueva Ecija.

The gun attack occurred along the NIA Road in Bgy. San Nicolas at 5:40 p.m. here.

Initial investigation showed the two victims were aboard a white electric bike proceeding home when they were shot from behind several times by unidentified suspects riding a black Honda Mio motorcycle.

City police head Lt. Col. Alexie A. Desamito said both victims were rushed to the Good Samaritan Hospital here for emergency treatment but the woman was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physicians with her son sustaining a gunshot wound on the left side of the head.

Desamito said they are processing the crime scene and conducting a review of CCTV footages for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.

The behind the attack has yet to be established., she added.
