Dynamic Herb, Stallion Laguna struggle

THE Philippines’ Dynamic Herb Cebu FC and Stallion Laguna suffered massive defeats against Australian sides in the AFC Cup.

The Gentle Giants were down six goals in the first half before absorbing a 2-8 setback to Macarthur FC in Group F action yesterday at the Campbell Sports Stadium in Sydney.

Stallion, meanwhile, lost to the Central Coast Mariners, 1-9, in their Group G duel at the Central Coast Stadium in Gosford on Wednesday.

Cebu and Stallion remained without a point in their respective tables in the continental club tournament.

The Gentle Giants avoided a shutout after a Matthew Jurman own goal in the 84th minute followed by a Rintaro Hama header five minutes later. Hama’s goal was Cebu’s first in the AFC Cup.

Juan Trujillo, meanwhile, produced Stallion’s lone goal in the 31st minute.
