THE Department of Transportation (DOTr), under the leadership of Secretary Jaime Bautista, has done so far for the country’s transportation sector, in the first 100 days under the Marcos Administration.

These include the extension of the Libreng Sakay on the EDSA Busway that has benefited more than 33.2 million commuters, the re-opening of 190 routes used by 12,255 authorized buses and jeepneys, as well as the Libreng Sakay Program for Students.

The DOTr officially broke ground for the construction of the Ortigas and Shaw Boulevard Stations and tunnels of the much-awaited Metro Manila Subway Project—also known as the “Project of the Century,” and formally opened the new and world-class Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of the “Asia’s Next Premier Gateway”—the Clark International Airport (CRK).

Moreover, the Department held the contract signing for the first four (4) civil works contract packages for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project, as well as the re-launching of the Calamba-Lucena-Calamba line of the Philippine National Railways (PNR).

The DOTr is driven to provide a safe, accessible, comfortable and affordable transport to the Filipino people, with its attached agencies working hand-in-hand under the Aviation and Airports, Railways, Road Transport, and Maritime sectors.
