Dad ‘rapes, kills’ 8-year-old daughter
AN eight-year-old girl who was allegedly raped and choked to death by her own father on Thursday was dumped in a canal in front of their house in Bgy. Dolores, Taytay, Rizal.
A neighbor’s child checked on the foul odor emanating from the canal and was shocked to see a part of tje victim.
The frightened child immediately reported the incident to elder residents.
Village residents rushed to the canal and saw the decomposing body inside. They promptly called the police.
Upon verification, it was learned that the body was that of the victim, who was reported missing since Sunday.
The father told police that his daughter was sleeping beside him last Sunday and when he woke up, the kid was no longer around.
Operatives of the Taytay Police Station invited the father for an initial investigation. At the police station, the father admitted to raping and killing his daughter.
The suspect told police that he raped his daughter when he saw her changing clothes. He said the child tried to resist, prompting him to choke her.
Seeing his daughter dead, the father threw her body into the canal in front of their house.
Records showed the suspect had just gone out of jail last year for drug charges.
The suspect, who was hauled to the Taytay police detention facility, was charged with rape with homicide.
