Cops donate blood, help save lives

THE Batangas Medical Center, Philippine Red Cross (PRC), and the Department of Health (DOH) conducted a bloodletting activity on June 17 at Camp Gen. Miguel C. Malvar, Batangas City Provincial Police Office (PPO) PIO (Public Information Office) Chief Police Police Lieutenant Mary Anne DV Espina said.

The theme of this year’s program is “Donating blood is an art of solidarity, Join the effort and save lives. Blood Brothers”.

P/Col. Glicerio C. Cansilao, provincial director, Batangas Police Provincial Office (PPO) in a report to P/Brig. Gen. Antonio C. Yarra, regional director, Police Regional Office Calabarzon (PRO-CALABARZON 4A), the activity started at 7:00 a.m. and ended at 7:00 p.m. and collected some 212 bags of blood from the police and civilian donors.

The said activity aims to “enable the PNP to reach out to people with serious illnesses who need blood and save lives.”

This is the fifth year that the Batangas PPO has been working with various government agencies and the private sector as part of “World Blood Donors Day”.

“We sincerely thank our blood donors for voluntarily donating your blood to help save the lives of people with serious illnesses,” Brig. Gen. Yarra said.
