CIDG seizes P260K smuggled cigarettes in Palawan

AN estimated P260,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes were confiscated P260,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes in Roxas, Palawan, this week, Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee said yesterday.

The official said that the operation likewise led to the arrest of a 33-year-old resident of Quezon, Palawan, and a 51-year-old suspect (both male) from Puerto Princesa City.

Lee said the two were arrested while transporting smuggled cigarettes without any clearance or other permits from concerned government agencies.

As a result, their truck was impounded by the local CIDG unit. The vehicle was found loaded with 200 reams of Fort Green, Red, and White cigarettes.
