CIDG agents seize illegal weapons
AGENTS of the National Capital Region Field Unit of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on Friday raided the house of a murder suspect in Rodriguez, Rizal and seized illegal weapons, PNP-CIDG director Major General Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said yesterday.
CIDG-NCRFU chief Colonel Hansel Marantan said three suspects were arrested during a raid in Sitio Upperland in Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez around at 11:30 p.m. Friday.
He identified the arrested suspects as Bocare Manabilang, 50, of 103 Sitio Upperland in Bgy. San Isidro; Elmer Almogera, 27, and Arjhay Aguirre, 21, both scavengers from nearby Kadayunan, Sitio Maislap.
Recovered from the raid were one caliber .38 revolver with six bullets, two hand grenades, one cal. .22 air rifle, two cal. 5.56 ammunition, a cal. .38 bullets, a 12-gauge shotgun ammunition and a shotgun shell.
Col. Marantan said the main target of the raid, Emarudin Naro alias ‘Emrex,’ who is wanted for murder, escaped during the operation.
The official said that members of the CIDG-NCRFU, joined by officers from the CIDG Eastern District Field Unit and the PNP Special Action Force’s Rapid Deployment Battalion conducted the raid.
Col. Marantan said that his men recovered the evidence and used a body camera to record the inventory of the confiscated illegal weapons.
