Church man held for stealing P600 from donation box
GAPAN CITY – Police arrested a janitor for allegedly stealing P600 from the donation box of the church in this city.
The alleged burglary was discovered after a review of the CCTV footages installed at the church.
City police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito identified the arrested suspect as Roberto Quijano alias “Iking,” 44, Bgy. Sto. Niňo, this city.
Quijano’s arrest was prompted by a phone call from Rev. Fr. Aldrin Domingo, 52, parish priest of the National Shrine of the La Virgen Divina Pastora and Three Kings Parish Church in Bgy. San Vicente at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
Desamito said Mylene De Jesus, a church worker told Fr. Domingo that upon review of CCTV footages installed at the church, Quijano was seen opening the donation box and carting away the P600 money inside it.
Charges for qualified theft are being readied for filing in court against the arrested suspect.
