TWO top drug suspects in Central Visayas were arrested on Tuesday by agents of the Cebu City Police Office after they conspired to sell more than P12 million worth of shabu to an undercover officer, Police Regional Office 7 (Police Regional Office 7) Director Brigadier General Roderick Augustus B. Alba said.

The suspect with the alias “Kevin,” a resident of Barangay Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City, and his cohort of Sitio San Vicente in Bgy. Bulacao will be facing non-bailable charges for the sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said the Central Visayas Police director.

According to the official, members of the Cebu City Police Office under Col. Irene Dalogdog arrested the duo during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Paula Maria in Bgy. Inayawan 4:52 a.m. Tuesday.

Confiscated from the possession of the two were several plastic packets containing an estimated 1,805 grams of the so-called “poor man’s cocaine” valued at P12.274 million and the buy-bust money.

The recovered drug evidence has been submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit for laboratory examination and safekeeping.

Alba said he had ordered the Cebu City PPO (Police Provincial Office) to launch follow-up operations to identify and arrest the main source of the drugs recovered from the two who are now being held at the Cebu City Police Station 7.
