DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite–Provincial Governor Juanito Victor ‘Jonvic’ Remulla Jr., together with four city and six local chief executives, received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Friday, April 16, at the Animo Center of the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute in Mangubat Avenue here.

Remulla and the 10 Cavite mayors held a meeting to discuss their target to achieve herd immunity before the end of the year.

Remulla got the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on his right shoulder around 4:30 p.m., followed by Mayors Jennifer Barzaga of Dasmariñas, Antonio ‘Ony’ Ferrer of General Trias City, Lani Mercado-Revilla of Bacoor City, Bernardo Paredes of Cavite City, Perfecto Fidel of Indang, Junio Dualan of Naic, Yuri Pacumio of Tanza, Maricel Torres of Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Redel Dionisio of Amadeo, and Lambert Bambao of Ternate.

“Huwag ho tayong matakot dito sa vaccine. Ito po ay proven effective, proven reliable at number 1 proven na makakatigil ng COVID-19,” Remulla said during his Facebook Live right after the vaccination.

According to Remulla, more vaccines will arrive in the province next month, to be given to the senior citizens and individuals with comorbidities.

“Cavite has received a few vaccination jabs. They are available but in the coming months it will be more widespread,” he said.

“Ang plano po natin ay sa susunod na anim na buwan ay ma-inoculate ang 2 milyong Caviteños sa pamamagitan ng pagtatayo ng 200 na intervention centers dito sa buong lalawigan ng Cavite,” Remulla added.
