THE city government of Caloocan received a new and more advanced mobile Material Recovery Facility (MRF) from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in order to aid the city in its waste management programs.

The mobile MRF will be used by the City Environmental Management Department (CEMD) to facilitate the collection and recycling of non-biodegradable wastes to be turned into potentially useful materials such as tables and chairs for public school students.

City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan expressed his gratitude towards the partnership of different national and international entities in helping the city government create “greener” communities.

“Maraming salamat po sa pagtutulungan ng CEMD, UNDP, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), at sa Japanese Embassy upang tulungan tayo sa ating magagandang adhikain para sa kalikasan at para sa lungsod ng Caloocan,” Mayor Along stated.

Mayor Along likewise called the attention of his constituents to personally observe proper collection and recycling processes, ensure the cleanliness of their local communities, and consistently perform other environment-friendly acts in order to beautify the city as well as to mitigate the effects of natural disasters.
