POLICE are hunting down the suspect in the gruesome killing of a K-pop boyband fan in Kalibo, Aklan.

Victim Bonna Hercia Ambay, a 23-year-old pawnshop manager and a BTS fan, on Monday was found butchered in her office at the RD Pawnshop on Mabini St., Bgy. Poblacion in Kalibo town at 9 a.m. on Monday.

A security guard of the pawnshop became suspicious when he noticed that the pawnshop’s roll-up door was still closed but the secondary gate was opened.

He immediately checked and was shocked to see Ambay bloodied on the floor and with multiple stab wounds.

The security guard immediately called the police.

Recovered at the crime scene were a bloodstained handbag, a pair of black slippers, handcuffs, towel, coin purse, and a knife believed used in the killing.

Also found at the crime scene was a security guard uniform with the name tag “Torrefiel Mar.” This has made security guard Mar Archie Torrefiel the prime suspect.

Police also found the suspect’s revolver hidden under a tree near his house.

Torrefiel was nowhere to be found.

RD pawnshop area manager Leamil Malungayon said the shop’s vault was intact and no valuables were taken.

Authorities are yet to determine the motive for Ambay’s gruesome murder.

Kalibo Mayor-elect Juris Bautista Sucro offered a P30,000 reward to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the now-in-hiding security guard.

The victim was a member of Korean pop group BTS‘s fandom, “ARMY.”

Fellow “ARMY” members are calling for justice for Ambay’s death as some are now helping the locals hunt for the suspect.
