Brigada Eskwela kicks off in Cavite

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite — Around 364 public schools here in this province yesterday conducted Brigada Eskwela for the school year 2023-2024.

This year’s theme is: “Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan.”

The Brigada Eskwela was held in preparation for school opening on August 29, 2023 nationwide.

Teachers, students, parents and volunteers helped each other in the renovation of schools in the eight cities and 16 towns of the province.

Each local government unit provided the materials such as thousand of gallons of paints, brush, broomstick, mops, and snacks needed for clean-up, painting and fixing of each rooms that lasted for a week.

“Yearly we do this, providing materials for Brigada Eskwela, and thanking all the volunteers who take part of the program,” said General Trias City Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV.

The mayor also informed that they will provide school supplies to each student on the first day of class, which they do every year.

Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua, Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua, Imus City Mayor Alex Advincula, Silang Mayor Kevin Anarna and Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino also expressed their preparation to provide school supplies for students in the public schools to help parents reduce their children’s back-to-school expenses.

Records showed that there are about 400,000 students in the province who are set to return to school for this school year.
