THE Batangas Police Provincial Office (PPO) welcomed Police Colonel Pedro D. Soliba as he formally assumed as the new provincial director Monday, August 22, 2022, at Camp General Miguel C. Malvar, Batangas City.

The turnover of office ceremony was presided by PRO Calabarzon (Police Regional Office Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr.

During the ceremony, the outgoing Provincial Director, P/Col. Glicerio C. Cansilao was awarded the “Medalya ng Kasanayan” for his imminently meritorious and invaluable service rendered as Batangas provincial director from May 17, 2021, to August 11, 2022, with his “leadership and commitment to sworn duty.”

“This turnover rites are made up of both proud and emotional moments. As the song of Taylor Dayne goes, ‘saying goodbye is never an easy thing’. And as much as I have learned to love the people and officials of Batangas, the time has come for me to move on in pursuit of my personal career goals,” Cansilao said.

Soliba stated his previous assignments where he was assigned for almost one-half of his 30 years in the police service and where he witnessed a series of encounters and culture of violence in Muslim areas and the majority of those sensational crimes were solved.

“Hindi natin kailangan ang mga well-trained special units to solve shocking crimes, what do we really need is our experience, commitment, and dedication to solve such sensational crimes,” Soliba said.

He also put emphasis on the peace and security framework of PNP Chief P/Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, “MKK=K” which stands for “Malasakit, Kaayusan Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran”.

“Hindi lamang malasakit sa community kung hindi mas paigtingin natin ang malasakit within sa atin sa PNP, sa kasamahan natin at sa issued assets natin. Ituring natin itong atin,” Soliba added.

“Binibigyang pagkilala natin ngayong araw na ito ang mga stakeholders tulad ng Lions Club, Soroptimist, Batangas Rifle & Pistol Group, Provincial Advisory Group, friends from the media…

Please continue to be at work with our police here at Batangas and also in Calabarzon region and the PNP as a whole. Kayo ang susi upang mapanatili o makuha natin ang tinatawag na MKK=K, ang ‘Kaunlaran’. Without this partnership and cooperation we cannot attain unity,” said Nartatez Jr.
