SOME 20 police officers of the Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) and five civilians will undergo Driving NC (National Certificate) II, which is one of the programs of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Provincial Training Center Lipa led by its Training Unit Head, Julius Abancio that held on August 10 at Camp General Miguel C. Malvar, Batangas City.

Included in such orientation is the performance of the “Power Test”, which consists of the Training Numeracy Test (TNT), Training Literacy Test (TLT), and Occupation Literacy Test (OLT), with a total of 160 items and time allotted to complete it.

Registration was also conducted where the participants had an individual account that would serve as a dashboard of information related to their training as TESDA scholars.

These were managed by Eric Lonaza, Driving NC-ll Trainer and Assessor; Arlen A. Salvador, Customer Service Officer; and Christopher Aquino, Scholarship Focal Senior.

A report by Batangas Police Director Col. Glicerio C. Cansilao to P/Brig. Gen Antonio C. Yarra, Regional Director, PRO-Calabarzon 4A (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) the training will begin on August 15, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and it will last for 15 days.

Each participant will undergo a Competency Assessment before the training ends.

If they pass the said assessment, they will be awarded an NC II Driving Certificate from TESDA as evidence that they can operate light motor vehicles that fall under LTO Restriction Code 2.

It is equivalent to the practical driving course for a non-professional driver’s license with restriction code 2 or driver’s license code B of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

“We are grateful to the leadership of TESDA for [offering the] program to our police officers. Thank you for your time and dedication to sharing your skills. You can count on a continuous and good relationship between the PNP and your agency,” Yarra said.
