This was the message of Governor Dodo Mandanas when the Batangas provincial government recognized Coast Guard, Admiral Artemio Abu of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Police Lieutenant General Manuel Abu of the Philippine National Police (PNP), as “modern Batangueño heroes” at the Regina R. Mandanas Memorial DREAM Zone, Capitol Compound, Batangas City on Monday.

Admiral Abu, the current PCG Commandant, the highest position in the said branch of the Armed Forces, has demonstrated his dedication to his duty since the eruption of the Taal Volcano in 2020 through his continuous public service to the safety of the affected communities and their residents.

P/Lt. Gen. Abu, on the other hand, the current PNP Chief of Directorial Staff, the 4th highest position in the police force, was also recognized for his exemplary achievements and programs during his service as PNP chief in various areas in the country, including being the PNP Area Commander of Eastern Mindanao and PNP Regional Director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
