Badoc LGU now ‘drug-free’

BADOC, Ilocos Norte – After working hand in hand to rid this town of illegal drugs, local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) officials declared Badoc town Thursday, a “drug-free community.”

According to P/Col. Julius Suriben, Ilocos Norte police director, declared the Badoc local government unit (LGU) as a drug-cleared area by the collective efforts of police, community, and PDEA officials in ridding the town of illegal drugs.

Suriben also thanked local officials and the community for helping the town become peaceful and attain its drug-free status.

Suriben also commended P/Maj. Joseph Tayaban and P/Capt for doing a job well done. Carlo Rabago, chief of police and deputy chief of police, and the religious sectors, community adviser Pastor Eduardo A. Agawan, who participated in the declaration of a “drug-free workplace” of the Badoc LGU.

Municipal officials of Badoc headed by Maximo D Cajigal, Municipal Mayor, together with department heads of the Badoc LGU and Suriben, PD INPPO, IA III Darnel L. Bacate, PD INPDEA were also present during the said activity.

“The declaration was the result of the initiative of INPPO in line with the BIDA Program of DILG,” Tayaban told Suriben.

“This activity supports the INPPO IMPLAN 02-2023-01 ‘PAGWADAN’ a program to create and sustain a drug-free workplace,” Tayaban added.
