Ataska from sweetie teenybop singer to a daring star
ATASKA Kloe Mercado started with Viva as a sweetie teenybop singer. But she really wanted to act so she asked the Viva bosses to let her try doing Vivamax film projects. So this year, she shed off all her inhibitions and went sexy in erotic dramas like “Bugaw” and “Bisyo”.
Now, she says she has just made her most daring performance in her young career in the episode “Grade Sex” of the series, “Halo Halo X”.
“The story is about two rival students, played by me as Melissa and Aiko Garcia as Bernadette,” says Ataska at the show’s presscon at Viva Cafe. “I used to be the number one student in our class, but Aiko suddenly gets better grades than me and she also excels when it comes to the school’s extra curricular activities. It’s almost the last grading period so bago matapos ang schoolyear, I have to move fast to make sure hindi niya ako malampasan.”
Since she is pressured by her parents to be their class valedictorian, Ataska then also does everything to make sure she’ll be the school’s number one student, even if it means that she would have to sleep her way to the top.
To do this, she seduces their school principal, played by Chester Grecia, just to make sure she will be proclaimed as the valedictorian. Also in this episode is Aerol Carmelo as Gringo, Ataska’s boyfriend, an officer in their military training whose help she asks to help pull her competitor down.
“The episode is not all about sex,” says Ataska. “It carries a meaningful message about parents who pressure their children to excel kaya napipilitan sila to resort to extreme measures to achieve victory.”
The other episode of “Halo Halo X” is “Surveillance”, starring Jela Cuenca as Anya, the lovely wife of Matt Francisco who suspects that Jela is playing with fire and is keeping a secret lover.
Matt then hires a detective, Benz Sangalang as the hunky Rich, to follow Jela when she goes to the province in her job as a traveling sales representative. Benz has to find out who Jela’s lover really is.
They get to meet each other out of town without Jela knowing that Benz is actually the detective hired by her own husband to investigate her. But as luck would have it, as he gets to know more of Jela, it is Benz who gets attracted to her and falls hopelessly in love with her.
This makes the situation very complicated. But later on, the truth will come out that it’s Matt who really is unfaithful as he has a paramour, played by Apple Dy.
