AP. Bren is once again the champion — after six long years.

In a dominant fashion, they secured victory over Blacklist International with a 4-1 score to rule the MPL Philippines Season 12 at the EVM Convention Center last Sunday, October 29.

The reigning IESF World Esports champions left no doubt about their supremacy by winning the first three games of the series.

Then, they pulling off an dramatic come-from-behind win to clinch the title and formally put an end to a six-season title drought.

In Game 5, with Blacklist threatening to force a Game 6 by securing three Lords in the early and mid-game, Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo executed a flawless initiation that caught four players from Blacklist International off guard.

With Marco “Super Marco” Requitano and Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel doing the damage damage from a safe distance, and Kyle “Kyletzy” Sayson and David “Flaptzy” Canon providing crucial support during the team fight, AP.Bren executed an incredible four-man wipe, enabling them to embark on a decisive push down a single lane.

The extraordinary playoff journey of AP.Bren concluded with a 17-9 victory, with Super Marco leading the charge on his Irithel with an impressive 7-2-6 record, while Kyletzy contributed a 5-2-6 KDA on the Martis pick.

Flaptzy, known for his effective zoning and aggression, emerged as the Finals MVP for his role in securing map control.

AP. Bren’s journey began with a resounding 9-2 victory in the series opener, followed by an even more dominant 14-2 win in Game 2.

Despite Blacklist’s resilience, with a 13-1 win in Game 3, AP.Bren retaliated with a 7-2 victory in Game 4, bringing them to the brink of claiming the MPL S12 title.

Looking ahead, AP.Bren and Blacklist International will represent MPL Philippines at the M5 World Championship in Manila, scheduled for December.

In the midst of these triumphs, AP.Bren’s head coach, Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro, had an even more unforgettable day as he was not only inducted into the Hall of Legends but also witnessed his team secure the MPL Philippines Season 12 championship.

“Ang hirap i-explain eh kasi we got like two achievements in one day. I mean, my Hall of Legends is actually an effect of my players’ hard work kasi hindi ko naman maa-achieve yun ng solo ako eh,” said Duckeyy during the post-game press conference.

“We’re very thankful na I have these guys with me and you know, along the way that we achieved and won this tournament na kasama ko sila,” he added.

Duckeyy has become the 12th MLBB personality to join the MPL Philippines Hall of Legends, adding another accolade to his already impressive career.

Furthermore, the AP.Bren coach shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

“I think it’s kind of like nasasamahan din ng kagustuhan ng players na maglaro parang gusto ko silang tulungan to like achieve their dreams. ‘Yun lang siguro yung motivation ko why I’m still here as a coach.”

Duckeyy also expressed his gratitude to his girlfriend and family, acknowledging that he considered himself fortunate to have their unwavering support through both the highs and lows.

“She was very supportive, very thankful to my family as well, thankful ako na supportive sila sa akin. It feels surreal na I’m very lucky to have that situation around me,,” said the now two-time MPL champion coach.
