Almost 62K Caloocan children get supplements, vax shots
ALMOST 62,000 children received anti-polio, anti-measles, and vitamin A in the first week of the ‘Chikiting Ligtas’ vaccination campaign.
A total of 3,898 children received vitamin A, 26,181 were immunized against measles, and 31,743 received protection against polio.
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan thanked the residents for their cooperation with the local government’s drive to protect and keep the children safe from diseases.
“Mahalaga na kaagapay natin ang mga magulang sa isinasagawa nating malawakang bakunahan laban sa rubella, polio, at tigdas,” the mayor stated.
Additionally, the City Health Department head, Dr. Evelyn Cuevas, said that the city government aims to reach all barangays in its effort to immunize children and protect them from polio and measles.
“Wala pong lunas ang mga karamdamang ito at tanging pagpapabakuna ang susi upang magkaroon ng proteksyon ang mga bata, kaya naman sinisiguro po natin na may sapat na kaalaman ang mga mamamayan at mapuntahan ang bawat barangay,” Dr. Cuevas stated.
