8 drug suspects nabbed in Ecija stings

CABANATUAN CITY — At least eight suspected drug personalities were nabbed in separate stepped-up anti-illegal drugs operations in Nueva Ecija on Thursday and Friday, police said yesterday.

In this city, three drug suspects were collared following separate buy-bust operations conducted in Bgy. Sumacab Este and San Josef Sur, said police head Lt. Col. Barnand Danie V. Dasugo.

He said female vendor Lorna Hamolin, 41, of Purok 1, Bgy. M. S. Garcia fell in police’s hands during a sting conducted in Bgy. Sumacab Este at 8:20 p.m. Authorities seized from her some P62,000 worth of shabu weighing 9.1 grams placed in 14 plastic sachets.

The other two suspects, identified as Jerome Madrid, 18, laborer, of Bgy. Hermogenes Concepcion Sr., and Jan Albert Paez, 22, tricycle driver, of Bgy. San Juan Accfa, were arrested in Bgy. San Josef Sur. Seized from the duo were two plastic sachets with .72 grams of shabu worth about P5,000.

In San Jose City, nabbed during a buy-bust was Necson Rull, 26, truck driver, of Bgy. Abar 2nd, said police head, Lt. Col. Criselda Y. De Guzman. Police also seized from him two plastic sachets with shabu worth P1,500.

Another buy-bust operation conducted in Cuyapo resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect identified as Khyle Abella, 22, a junior mechanical engineering student, of Sitio Lawak, Bgy. Bentigan. He was caught selling P500 worth of marijuana after authorities were able to monitor his illicit activities after a two-day surveillance. Town police chief Lt. Col. Erwin V. Ferry tagged him as a newly-identified personality involved in the illegal trade of marijuana.

Separate anti-illegal drug operations also resulted in the arrest of three other drug suspects in Gapan City and the towns of Sta. Rosa and San Antonio.

They were identified as Louie Francisco, 49, of Bgy. Sto. Niňo, Gapan City; Ronald Matias, 25, of Bgy. San Mariano, Sta. Rosa; and Danilo Manalastas, 47, of Sitio Bantug, Bgy. San Francisco, San Antonio.
