3 men nabbed at Comelec checkpoints, yield illegal drugs, gun
POLICE yesterday arrested a motorcycle-riding man who yielded around one kilo of marijuana leaves in Quezon City.
Denzel Ethan Kyte Mejia was arrested around 4:05 a.m. at a Comelec checkpoint conducted by PS9 operatives in front of LRT Katipunan Station on Aurora Blvd., Brgy. Loyola Heights.
Seized from him was a bundle of dried marijuana leaves with a standard value of P120,000, and a Yamaha Fazzio motorcycle with plate number 1301-2001647.
Jeno Acuin, 28, and Danilo Hesido, 61 were apprehended in another checkpoint at the corner of Payatas Road and Molave Street in Bgy. Payatas.
The report showed that the two were onboard a taxi when flagged down around 3:20 a.m.
When frisked, police found a .38 revolver with a defaced serial number, a sachet of suspected shabu, cellular phones, cash, and assorted identification cards.
