2 nabbed for ‘bogus’ gun licenses
POLICEMEN from Civil Security Group (CSG) collared two alleged syndicate members engaged in “falsifying” documents of guns in an entrapment operation in Sta. Cruz, Manila, on Tuesday.
According to P/Brigadier Gen. Benjamin Silo, Jr., director of CSG, the arrested suspects were caught in the act of offering counterfeit licenses and documents for firearms.
The suspects will be facing charges of violation of Article 172 (falsification by private individual and use of falsified documents).
Recovered were one computer set, a printer, two printed copies of PNP-SOSIA-CSG identification cards, three assorted fake IDs, a PVC cutter, and the marked money.
“Personnel of FEO led by P/Maj. Joven M. Manalansan, in coordination with the personnel of Sta. Cruz Station 3 conducted [an] entrapment operation on the alleged proliferation of fake License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and Firearms Registration Card that resulted in the arrest of the above-mentioned accused,” said the report.
